School Resource Officer
Schools are not free from the pressures of the outside world. The tragic aftermath of Columbine has taught us this. Just recently at New Bedford High School several students were found to be plotting a Columbine-style massacre. It was the School Resource Officer who played a major role in uncovering the plot.
Educators have identified certain characteristics and processes common to schools where all students learn and achieve at high levels. The number one correlate of effective schools is a safe and orderly environment. The presence of a School Resource Officer within the Scituate schools is a proactive move to improve the quality of life within the school community and to secure a safe learning environment for our children, teachers, staff and parents.
